The Casino Department is operated by either a separate corporate division or by a third party concession. Carnival Corporation Casino Division operates the casino on all of their cruise line brands. These include Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, and The Yachts of Seabourn. Other concessions for casinos include Century Casinos, Casinos Austria Maritime.
Casino Manager
Job Description: Manage the overall operations of the casino floor; Supervises dealers; Ensures the security of the casino; Meets or exceed revenue budgets.
Experience and Skills Required: Managerial experience in a casino is required. Shipboard experience is preferred.
Average Salary: $2,500 to $4,000 per month
Head Casino Cashier
Job Description: Oversees the overall casino cash operations; Ensures an accurate casino vault and cash desk; Supervises casino cashiers; Supervises dealer cash drop at end of day; Manages cruise end financial reporting of the casino.
Experience and Skills Required: Minimum two year’s experience as a bank teller, a casino cage, or front desk cashier of a hotel or cruise ship; Experience with coin and bill counters; Post secondary education is preferred. Accounting experience is an asset.
Average Salary: $2,000 to $3,000 per month
Casino Cashier
Job Description: Responsible for receiving and paying out various types of monetary exchange including casino chips, cash, coins and credit. Duties also include maintaining cage security, accurate record keeping, and customer service.
Experience and Skills Required: Minimum one year’s experience as a bank teller, a casino cage, or front desk cashier of a hotel or cruise ship; Experience with coin and bill counters; Post secondary education is preferred.
Average Salary: $1,500 to $2,000 per month
Casino Dealer
Job Description: Responsible for accurate exchange of cash and chips; Ensure wagers are carried out accurately including payments of bets; Ensure pace of game is appropriate.
Experience and Skills Required: Minimum one year’s experience in a licensed casino conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette, and other casino games; Applicant must have proof of completion of a Gaming Board approved dealer school.
Average Salary: $1,500 to 2,500 per month
Casino Slot Technician
Job Description: Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all casino slot machines and video arcade machines.
Experience and Skills Required: Slot Technicians need at least six months of relevant experience.
Average Salary: $2,000 to $3,000 per month
Casino Host
Job Description: Identifies preferred players and VIPs. Responsible for building relationships with guest that in turn increases gaming revenue.
Experience and Skills Required: Minimum one year’s experience in a licensed casino in blackjack, roulette; Outgoing personality is required as are excellent computer skills.
