Thomson Cruises is owned by TUI Travel PLC. Thomson Holidays started up in 1965 and has grown to become one of the UK’s biggest travel brands. Thomson Cruises offers cruises in the Caribbean, Scandinavia and Baltic, Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, and the Red Sea. They market to Europeans (mainly Brits) and their ships are family-friendly.
Thomson Cruises has currently retained a few of Louis Cruises’ ships under a charter agreement such as Thomson Spirit and Thomson Celebration. In 2008, TUI Travel purchased Island Cruises from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and their sole ship, Island Escape. Now the Island Escape operates under Thomson Cruises using its same name.
